Many people of Asian origin want to change their facial features, whether it’s their eyelids, nose or cheekbones. Some want an even greater change by thinning their entire face through a procedure commonly known as “square face” surgery.
Although blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty and cheekbone reduction surgeries for Asians are not commonly offered in Quebec, Dr. Bergeron acquired unique expertise in this area by completing subspeciality in cranio-maxillofacial surgery at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan after his training in plastic surgery. He also co-edited an issue of the journal Seminars in Plastic Surgery entitled “Aesthetic Surgery In Asians” (Chen YR, Bergeron L, eds. “Aesthetic Surgery in Asians.” New York: Thieme; 2009. Hollier LH, ed. Seminars in Plastic Surgery; No. 23). In short, Dr. Bergeron is highly proficient in all these plastic surgery techniques specifically designed for Asian facial features.
